It started in a small way in 1963. The institute library at Patiala is one of the biggest collections of literature on sports and games. There are about 22,000 books, magazines, Journals in this library. The library also subscribes to a large number of foreign sports and sports science journals. NIS Sports Library is housed in a centrally air conditioned spacious premises covering a two parts ground floor and first floor.
A large number of faculty member, student, and researches avail the service of this library. There is an exclusive library period for the students.
Library operations are fully automated with KOHA Library Management system .Most of the library operations are automated. Library catalogue Web-OPAC can be searched from anywhere and subscribe E-resources can be searched from the Campus only. Thesis Dissertation are available on Institutional Repository maintained with help of D-Space and can be accessed from anywhere on the globe. Library remains open 9.30 am to 6 pm.
